Laina Kenyon is a Research Assistant with Sones & White Consulting. A San Diego, California native, Laina graduated from Belhaven University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre Ministry. After having lived in California, Ireland, and Australia, Laina has decided to make Mississippi home. Her cultural background and time abroad have made her appreciate diversity and culturally rich community.

Prior to joining Sones & White, Laina worked as the Kitchen Manager at Deep South Pops, a gourmet popsicle shop in Jackson, Mississippi. While at Deep South Pops, Laina oversaw all popsicle production for two local shops, as well as developing over thirty new popsicle recipes. She is currently serving on the Redeemer Community Arts Committee at Redeemer Church in Jackson and has previous experience leading theater workshops in prisons through Shining Light Ministries.

Laina is interested in telling stories of the marginalized and seeing art thrive in Mississippi. She does so with her husband James and their non-profit theater company, Hearth & Mantel Theatre. When not at her desk or in the theater, Laina is likely to be thrifting or pretending to know what she’s doing in the kitchen.
